Quick Scanning with a unique shape and workflow. With the VSP-7005 Vertical Smart Probe, reading takes place primarily from the bottom flat side of the unit, which provides maximum scan field strength for easy and accurate scans.
A Smart Probe intended for permanent installation. Read and process data collected from a fixed location designed to best suit your workflow and facility.
Flexible mounting options. Automated scanning systems and non-handheld installations attempt to maximize scanning and reading efficiency, and typically include a permanent mounting solution for the Smart Probe. Various orientations and mounting options are possible with the VSP-7005. The back of the unit is perfectly flat, facilitating permanent installation, and includes four large holes for directly affixing to flat surfaces.
Scan manually or in automated convenience. When using an auto scan mode, the Smart Probe automatically scans for a transponder every 2-3 seconds, allowing a researcher to gather data rapidly from many transponders within a close location. With the manual scan mode, the Smart Probe only reads transponder data when the scan buttons are pressed.
Complete, automated integration of RF data. We call them “Smart Probes” because the RF processing of animal IDs and associated data takes place within the VSP-7005 and is integrated seamlessly with any of various BMDS reader-programmers and connected PCs. Smart Probes feature microprocessors that can be programmed to read and process RF data directly from a transponder and process it within a database format. The VSP-7005 may be powered through the reader-programmer connection, or alternatively, by its onboard rechargeable battery.
